Excellent live album sound is perfect, performance is better than perfect, highly recommended 10 star release. Long Live Rock & Roll! I feel compelled to reply: I first experienced Ritchie Blackmore with Deep Purple on the Burn Tour at the Astrodome in Houston,Texas on the bill was a little known band - Elf w/ Ronnie James Dio and I have seen Dio & Blackmore many times since, I own all of /5().

“Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow” was the debut album by this band and is a classic blend of 70’s hard rock and heavy metal. The album opener “Man On The Silver Mountain” was the first hit single of the band and its success was the reason this album could be labeled as a mini hit.

"Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow" () is the first album released by "Rainbow". It was recorded and released while lead guitarist Ritchie Blackmore was still a member of "Deep Purple".Lead vocalist Ronnie James Dio has called this his favourite Rainbow album. "Elf" had supported Deep Purple on the previous year's tour promoting the band's "Burn" album.. This album marked the first collaboration.

Jul 13,  · "Catch the Rainbow", from the first album, kept the best part of the evening's momentum going. A tribute to the "On Stage" version. Elsewhere, fan favorite "Stargazer" starts off a little slow but gains steam showcasing background singers Candice Night and Lady Lynn, correctly introduced as Christina Skleros by Romero.

Perhaps the first example of "dragon rock" -- a style perfected by bands like Iron Maiden and Dio in the early to mid-'80s -- was Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, a rather pretentious collection from the guitarist's first post-Deep Purple project. Fittingly enough, a young Ronnie James Dio provides the goblin-like frontman presence required by the increasingly Baroque Blackmore.
  7. Bak says:
Over the Rainbow is intended to cater to a ready-made audience, i.e., Rainbow fans, with the former members across its history and the inclusion of Ritchie Blackmore’s son as the publicity angle. That angle has got us talking–therefore it has succeeded in creating interest.
